GM Student Corps Brightens Neighborhoods and Futures

GM Student CorpThe second GM Student Corps concluded on Tuesday, Aug. 19 as General Motors executives, GM retiree mentors and GM student interns gathered to celebrate their summer of community revitalization on the UDM McNichols Campus. 

Mike DiGiovanni ’70, ’72, a GM retiree and UDM Economics Professor, co-led 60 retiree mentors and volunteers with retired GM executive Larry Hice. Thirteen UDM students also hired as GM summer interns provided additional guidance and project support. View Press Release.




Six UDM graduates will teach abroard in Guangzhou, China during the 14-15 academic year

Grads teaching overseasThe UDM alumni will teach mainly in K-12 settings and at three different schools; they will live relatively close to each other at each school’s on campus housing facility.

UDM and the Language & Cultural Training Department is proud to help organize teach abroad opportunities for our recent graduates. Good luck to Tiffany Brown ’13, Jonathan Krause ’14, Joe Styczynski ’14, Jackie Truscott ’14, Christopher Wroblewski ’13, and Nahleayen Xiong ’12.
